Connecting to TVs

Topic Progress:

When DJ Trivia opens, the game screen window will pop up.

USING HDMI to connect to the TVs

If you are connected to the TV(s) via the HDMI cable to the laptop, make sure you EXTEND DISPLAY, and then drag the game screen window off to the right onto the TV.

Press “Windows Key” + P to bring up the display preferences and select EXTEND.

Click the Lock/Unlock button to make the game screen window full-screen.

Some locations use a WIRED HDMI to Cat5 Splitter system.   Plug the HDMI cable from the laptop into the splitter box.   Cat5 ethernet cables run from the splitter to HDMI Baluns attached to each of the TV’s.  Change the INPUT on the TVs to the correct HDMI port that the splitter is connected to.

DJ Trivia Wireless System (New 2018)

If using the DJ Trivia Wireless system.  Make sure the wireless access point is plugged into the computer BEFORE DJ Trivia is opened.  Make sure BOTH the “Wifi” Light, and the #2 light are lit up/blinking. If the #2 light is not lit up, make sure the USB/Ethernet cable is plugged in & connected securely.

The DJ Trivia TV Boxes are wireless receivers that plug into the TV’s via HDMI.   When the TV box is connected to the TV but does not have signal from the Laptop, it will show the Einstein splash screen.

When DJ Trivia loads and connects to a NEW TV Box that it has not yet seen, it will pop up a window asking you to “Allow Game Screen”.   CLICK ALLOW

The DJ Trivia TV Boxes, once allowed access, will automatically connect to DJ Trivia.  You can tell that the TV Boxes are connected because the TV will no longer show the Einstein splash screen, it will instead say “DJ Trivia Please Stand By”  OR show the contents of the slideshow or game.
