During the dinner there are several possible events that may or may not take place. They are generally in the following order. Consult with your client whether or not they will be occurring at the event.
Bride & Groom Thank You’s / Welcome
The Bride & Groom may want to say a few words of welcome or thanks to their guests before the meal. Be prepared to introduce and pass the microphone, or have the microphone waiting at the head table for them.
Blessing
Typically a family member will give the blessing / prayer before dinner. Know who to introduce and pass the microphone to.
Plated Dinner or Buffet
Will the meal be served (plated), or will guests be invited to the buffet. If it is a buffet meal, determine who will be inviting tables to the buffet. Be prepared to be the designated person to invite tables. When inviting tables, the order to invite them is as follows.
- The Head Table
- The Reserved Tables (for VIP guests)
- Tables that will need to be cleared off the dance floor
- The rest of the tables in any order you deem appropriate
Clinking of the glasses / Dinner Kisses
Guests will clink their silverware on the glasses in an effort to have the Bride & Groom kiss. We have several entertaining options to make the evening more fun & interactive. See the Scripts & Structures section for examples.
