AMPS – The Music Player
First we are going to cover the AMPS software. AMPS is the music player software that works with the DJ Trivia Software. You will need to create a playlist of 21 songs within AMPS for each game.
WE MUST USE AMPS PRO FOR DJ TRIVIA
AMPS licenses are locked to the laptop on which it is purchased for. It is NOT POSSIBLE to transfer an AMPS license from one laptop to another. When AMPS is installed onto a new laptop, it grants a 2-month free-trial period.
If your laptop is currently running the free-trial, YOU MUST SELECT “AMPS PRO” when starting AMPS.
AMPS has 2 players. For DJ Trivia we must build a playlist in Player 1. You may use Player 2 to preview songs, and to create a playlist for before or after the DJ Trivia game.
The Pro Sound & Light Show music library should be added and scanned into the AMPS music database.
Wait until AMPS is done loading all of the tracks before making the playlist.
Clear the Playlist
If there are songs in the playlist, click on File -> Clear Playist -> Clear All Lists
Build the Playlist in Player #1
When searching for songs, you can press the “ESC” key to clear the search box and start a new search. Search “Anywhere in” “Title” (Title is the file name, our library puts ARTIST – TITLE in the file name so this allows you to search either.
To add a song to the Player 1 playlist, simply doubleclick on the song in the music library. You may also click-and-drag the song to either Player 1 or Player 2.
A full playlist will contain 20 or 21 songs. A regular game is 20 questions, the 21st question is the TIE BREAKER. If you do not have a 21st song for the tie breaker, use the Jeopardy TV Theme Song.
