Do not perform this interaction by reading these instructions alone! Make sure you have practiced ahead of time!
What you will need:
The Rapid Fire card
2 teams with 4-8 volunteers in each
Prizes prepared for all contestants (glow sticks/beads)
Step By Step:
- As the previous song ends, compliment the dancers and ask the guests to clear the dance floor for a game!
- Find two team captains, have them come to the dance floor and announce them, then have them each choose 3-7 (you determine the number) more contestants to be on their team (teams must be even)
- Line the two teams up so that if you stand in the middle of the dance floor, the two team captains would be on either side of you and just a bit in front, facing each other so you could move a mic back and forth between their two faces quickly. Their contestants must line up behind them.
- Rules:
- Each team will have one person compete at a time. You will select which contestant starts first and it will alternate between teams for each round
- You will announce a topic (IE: brands of cars) and when you say “GO!” you will place the microphone in front of one of the contestants who must then say one of whatever you are asking for.
- If they can do this without stuttering, pausing more than 3 seconds , or saying ummm or ahhh, etc. then the mic passes to the other teams contestant (Note: the mic is in your hand, you move it back and forth between contestants). That contestant must do the same without making any of the same mistakes. This will go back and forth until someone messes up.
- When the audience hears a mistake, they must make the magic sound (demonstrate for them and have them do it back, just a loud buzzer sound you can make with your mouth).
- The contestant who made the mistake is then out of the game and the contestant who won that round goes to the end of his/her team’s line.
- This will repeat until only one team remains!
- Follow the game rules, make commentary and jokes, choose funny topics and have fun.
- When a team wins, congratulate everyone and give out prizes, back to dancing.
