The Garter Removal & Bouquet Toss is one of the last times in the night where you will be able to shine on the microphone.  It is also your last chance to leave a good impression, so it is important to be tasteful and appropriate when leading the Garter Removal and Bouquet Toss due to the sexual undertones.  See the Scripts & Structures section for examples on how to perform this event.

“Friends and family, it’s time for the Garter and Bouquet toss.  The first thing we need is for all the single women to join us on our Dance Floor….Great! Now you all stand over here on this side, and ______& ______ will join me on the other side.

Perfect, __Groom__ is going to help us out by making sure __Bride__ can’t tell where she’s throwing it.  (Start Music) Now __Groom__, You can start to spin your bride around.

Ladies we can’t do this without some excitement, so let’s make some noise!  

Okay I think we are ready, on the count of three 1….2…. ladies make some noise ….3!

(Bride tosses bouquet, someone catches, make a bunch of excitement about it.)

Next we would like to welcome out the single men to the dance floor (line them opposite the bride).  Now let’s have __Groom__ remove that garter for us so we can begin!, (play music)… (He gets it)… Okay men, get ready, __Bride__ , it’s your turn to spin your husband, fair’s fair! ….
